Paint some members Green? How Green Teams have painted themselves & why you should grab a brush.

A Green Team group of employees, individually organized or as part of the organization, passionate about promoting sustainability both at home and at work. These groups run initiatives like learning sessions and sustainability events, and provide tools and resources to enhance sustainability. Beyond this, they work to identify opportunities to improve the sustainability of the overall organization and community.

Business Imperative

Business goals, sustainability goals, corporate sustainability

Green teams are a great way to champion employees passionate about the earth, as embracing sustainability becomes an expectation for organizations. Interdisciplinary individuals who can speak with their peers and answer any questions more comfortably enable smooth and natural change management contributions. Individuals who are excited to do so and to contribute to making the organization more sustainable promote collaboration and involvement. Additionally, there are cost savings to being more sustainable and Green Teams contribute to a positive organization image.

People

But, Green Teams are more than that. They are a community for like-minded individuals to connect and share experiences. Volunteering, exchanging tips & recipes, seeking advice, bringing in friends, Green Teams contribute to increasing belonging and sustainability.

Particularly in the industrial space, there is a lot of room for growth when it comes to environmental impacts, but it has to start with closing an education gap when it comes to sustainability.

Empower these individuals.

They will lead the change, but they will need support. Promote opportunities to contribute while providing the flexibility to do so.
